Across the American West, wild mustangs are living symbols of our nation’s heritage. Strong, resilient, and born to be free. Yet many face an uncertain future, with too few places willing or able to save them from slaughter.

At the same time, thousands of combat-wounded veterans return home carrying wounds that cannot always be seen. They have given pieces of themselves in service to our country, and many continue to struggle long after the battlefield is behind them.

 

Heritage & Honor Foundation was created to bring these two stories together.

We rescue wild mustangs facing slaughter and give them a safe place to heal, while creating opportunities for combat-wounded veterans to find healing through meaningful relationships with these extraordinary animals.

There is something powerful about placing a horse that has survived fear, uncertainty, and displacement beside a veteran who understands those things firsthand.
